Hi, it has been a little while since I did a blog. I just felt like I needed a break from blogging a little bit. Sometimes it's hard for me to write something. Perhaps, a break is what I need. Now, I'm glad to get back on and share some things with you.
For the last month or so, the world has turned upside down. Our country and everywhere else are facing a crisis this terrible unknown virus is called, "COVID19." Because of this, we have to stay at home and don't go anywhere. For those who have jobs, doctors, nurses, and co-workers, they are doing it to keep our country going. They are risking their lives to help those who are sick, providing food, and supplies in need. And for those who don't have jobs, stay home because it's the best way to keep our loved ones and others from getting sick.
I don't have a job or able to go out to help people. I know there are other people who feel the same way. I sometimes feel like I'm not helping much. I can't do much to help my community.
But then I realized there is something I can do. I can use my gift by drawing cards. A simple note to tell them that they aren't alone and they are loved. We are in this together. Sometimes doing something like that is enough.
Every act that we do out there or in homes matters. We stay connected with our loved ones, friends, and show our care and support to our community. Here is one of the cards I drew. This is a pink lily flower.
Aside from sending cards, I have done some other things. While I was taking a little break from blogging I started writing A Forever Summer, a contemporary romance novella. I rarely share my writing "projects" on blogs. Half of the projects I started aren't complete or just haven't been written out. I get ideas and sometimes they don't work. I dealt with this curse many times. It happens to many writers. I wrote about this topic in the March blog. If you want to read it, I provided the link Are you Pantser or Plotter. Click if you're interested!
During that time, Patty, my sister's friend, would give her a magazine to borrow. I asked my sister if I could look at them. She nodded and I glanced through. As I was looking at the pictures, there was something that caught my attention. I looked back to a couple of pages and stared at these pictures. They gave me inspiration and that's how I got started to write A Forever Summer. I completed the novellas in almost a month and a half.
The story is set in the 80s and it's about two characters meeting on the Massachusetts coast.
I don't want to say too much about what the plot is about. If I do, I will spoil the fun.
I sometimes take a break during my writing process. When I do, I like to draw or watch movies. If the weather is nice, I would ride a bike in the backyard. Some days I like to draw pictures. For the last few weeks, I began to take my drawing skills more seriously. I decide to improve my skills. I usually share my artworks on a separate page. However, I thought it would be nice to share some of my recent works.
The first one on the right is Saoirse Ronan, an actress. She plays Jo March from Little Women 2019, the second portrait is Princess Charlotte, the daughter of William and Kate, Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, and the last is Caissie Levy who plays Elsa in Frozen the Broadway Musical.
Spring is here. Well, it has been spring for a couple of weeks already. I would stop and look at pretty flowers. I'm not a big gardener kind of person, but I do like to capture the beauty of flowers. They have a beautiful way to express God's love and praise His works. I can share some photographs of spring flowers.
As for the closure, I want to say, we must stay strong and stick together. We must lay our eyes on Jesus. He is our hope. We have to put our trust in Him! If we do that, we have hope that things will be okay. We are not alone. We are in this together.
